Messiah 3 sees the return of Ken Stott as DCI Metcalfe, where his infamous ability to get under the skin and into the minds of deranged killers is put to the ultimate test when he is forced to confront Pace Tierney, the man who once held him hostage.

Tierney abducts DS Kate Beauchamp (Frances Grey) and Red is forced to send in armed police. When the injured are transferred to a London hospital, Tierney and another prisoner are murdered and Metcalfe is forced to face his own feelings of hatred and track down the killer.
