As mounting medical bills and domestic turmoil have Walt scrambling to find a solution to his problems, Hank's heroism in the shootout with Tuco lands him a promotion at the DEA. And while Hank makes a point of putting on a good show at work, underneath it all he is scared to death of another potentially fatal confrontation.

Meanwhile, Jesse looks to put his own house in order, first by negotiating a deal with Clovis to store the mobile meth lab and then by persuading a sceptical landlord to agree to rent him a duplex even though he doesn't have a job.

And though he agrees to rejoin Walt in their partnership, this time Jesse insists that they do it his way, with Jesse running the business end and Walt handling the chemistry.
