Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine) directs Jean Reno (The Professional) as Parisian murder detective commissioner Pierre Niemans; a seasoned detective who is sent to investigate some grisly goings-on at a cloistered Alpine University.

Vincent Cassel (Oceans 12 & 13) stars as Max Kerkerian, a young small town policeman who is not too pleased to have a Parisienne detective meddling into murders in his local area.

Both are drawn to the remote mountain university town of Guernon and to nearby Sarzac, where the hideous secret of the murders threatens to engulf them both, as the Alpine tranquility is shattered by exploding secrets from 20 years previously.

Support cast includes Jean-Pierre Cassel (Vincent's father), Karim Belkhadra and Nadia Fares.

Trivia: Vincent Cassel broke his nose while filming the fight scene with the skinheads; director Mathieu Kassovitz can be seen as the hooded killer who shoots at Jean Reno at the bottom of the stairwell in the house on stilts. His voice is also heard over the CB radio talking to Vincent Cassel.
