Synopsis
Based on Anne Michaels' bestselling novel, this emotionally charged story directed by Jeremy Podeswa (The Tudors) stars Stephen Dillane (The Hours) as Jakob Beer, a man whose life is haunted by his childhood experiences during WWII.

Orphaned during wartime, Jakob is saved by a Greek archaeologist. During his life he tries to deal with the losses he has endured, but it's through his writing and the discovery of love that he is finally freed from the legacy of his past.

The support cast includes Rade Serbedzija (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day) and Rachelle Lefevre (The Twilight Saga).
