In this comedy drama Joel Edgerton stars as Simon, who is having trouble with his wife (mainly due to sexual issues) and begins to fall for his wife's friend Katrien (Rhona Mitra) who is going through a divorce with her ex-husband Klaus (Thomas Kretschmann), whom she found in bed with another women. Simon first notices Katrien while she is playing in the orchestra that he went to watch with his wife.

Simon feels incredibly bad for her after she finds out about Klaus's infidelity, as well as attracted to her. Katrien notices his attraction and appreciates his sympathy. Their mutually vulnerability leads to the beginnings of a relationship neither of them expected.
