Directed by Danny DeVito, this caustic comedy about divorce reduces the greedy '80s to ashes as it takes the battle of the sexes to a whole new level.

The Roses, Barbara and Oliver, are a happily married couple until she wonders what life would be like without him. Once she decides she wants out of the marriage, it becomes a battle to determine who gets what. Oliver is hurt to the quick. How could she be so ungrateful as to want to break up their happy home?

But Barbara doesn't want to break up the "happy home" - she just wants Oliver out of it. No alimony. No division of his business assets. All she wants is the house and everything in it. Oliver is just as determined that she's never going to get his house - never!

Taking advantage of an obscure statute unearthed by Gavin, who is now his divorce attorney, he refuses to move out, and soon Oliver and Barbara's beloved home is transformed into a psychological and physical battleground.
