An explosive biopic of Jimmy Hoffa, the legendary Union boss who rose from blue collar battler to Mob tool, only to meet his match in shady Mafia cohorts.
Directed by Danny DeVito, who co-stars as Hoffa's devoted flunky, penned by razor-sharp David Mamet, and coming down, in the end to Nicholson's committed performance (augmented by an Oscar-nominated physical transformation) Hoffa is Hollywood myth-making at its best.
TRIVIA:
Jack Nicholson's daughter plays the young nun in the hospital scene where Billy Flynn is dying from his burns; Cameo: Tim Burton one of the corpses in the Teamsters' funeral scene; the 'F' word in its various permutations is uttered 153 times; the courtroom scenes were filmed in the Wayne County Commission (Detroit) meeting room and most of the extras were Commissioners, their staffs, and county workers.

Danny DeVito
