Frankie and Johnny 1991
sl

Starring
Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nathan Lane

Oscar-winner Al Pacino stars as Johnny, recently released from prison, who gets a job as a cook in a Greek restaurant where he falls for Frankie. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as the disenchanted waitress who'd rather spend the rest of her life staring out the window than risk another painful relationship. However, Johnny is extremely persistent and eventually romance blossoms, proving you never choose love - love chooses you.

Directed by Garry Marshall who, one year earlier, had the success of his career with Pretty Woman. In supporting roles are Kate Nelligan (The Cider House Rules), who won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Hector Elizondo and Nathan Lane.

Trivia: in one scene Al Pacino had to be surprised after opening a door so Marshall arranged for Star Trek's Kirk and Spock to be on the other side as they were shooting nearby.
