Synopsis
In Robert Aldrich's Oscar-winning classic, Burt Reynolds stars as inmate Paul Crewe in this prison-sports drama. As an imprisoned quarterback Crewe sees the guards have a top-notch football team. Two authoritarian sports fanatics, warden Hazen (Eddie Albert) and captain Knauer (Ed Lauter) are ruthless in their pursuit to win. But as Crewe rallies the prisoners they come together to form a spirited squad, which Hazen doesn’t like. With the final game of the year approaching Hazen pressures Crewe to throw the big game. Conflict builds culminating in a brutal football game between the inmates and the guards, which will have you pinned to your chair.
