Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, Bill Murray
Peter and Robert Farrelly direct Woody Harrelson as Roy Munsen, a '70s bowling phenomenon. But Roy's not too sharp when it comes to friends, especially when he gets involved with Big Ern (Bill Murray). Big Ern induces him to become a hustler, but a couple of guys take exception to the scam.
Twenty years later, Roy now has a hook in place of his hand and earns his living as a salesman. On a visit to a bowling alley, he notices the incredible talents of an Amish boy, Ishmael (Randy Quaid). Roy takes Ishmael under his wing, and together they begin a quest for bowling success.
The soundtrack includes Cat Stevens, The Trammps, The Go-Betweens, The Rascals, Goldfinger, The Strangeloves with Urge Overkill doing their own rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
TRIVIA:
In the scene in the bowling alley restaurant, before Ishmael is about to get beaten up, the three are eating burgers and fries. However, Roy is eating a salad because Harrelson is a vegan; the entire commercial Ernie McCracken does for the kids, is ad libbed by Bill Murray; the person shouting "Ernie, you 'da man!" at the final showdown between McCracken and Munson, is Will Ferrell.
