Taking advantage of the overwhelming popularity of the smash American talent show American Idol, this comedy stars the two charismatic finalists from the first incarnation of the hit show.

An old-style musical in the mould of the Beach Blanket films from the 1960s, the story takes Kelly (Kelly Clarkson) and her friends Kaya (Anika Noni Rose) and Alexa (Katherine Bailess) down to the sun-drenched southern Florida coast for their college Spring Break.

At the same time up in Pennsylvania, Justin (Justin Guarini) and his pals Brandon (Greg Siff) and Eddie (Brian Dietzen) decide to head down to warmer climes for a guys-only road trip.

When the two groups arrive at the same Florida beachside, Brandon, Alexa, Kaya, and Eddie are only interested in the appealing eye candy swarming around. Kelly and Justin, however, catch eyes and fall in love at first sight.
