Synopsis
A grim fairy tale from the chill-maestro behind Nightmare on Elm Street. Ghetto-rat Ving Rhames steals into a slumlord's lair and finds a house of horrors, including a mutant brood trapped in the cellar.

Rhames' teenage co-star, Brandon Adams, who also starred alongside Michael Jackson in the Moonwalker video, plays the aptly named Fool.

Craven sets the tone early on by equating economic exploitation with horror and all but calling slumlords child abusers - has the maven become mired in the message? You decide.
