Synopsis
Director Bob Rafelson, the creator of Five Easy Pieces and The King of Marvin Gardens directs Debra Winger as federal agent Alexandra Barnes, whose life is pretty mundane most of the time. But all that is about to change.

In the dreary confines of her Justice Department cubicle, Alex searches the computer banks for clues to the identity of a serial killer - a woman to whom murder has become a final expression of love. The search becomes an obsession that will ultimately draw the agent out of her office, into the most intimate confidence of the suspected murderess.

Their friendship will transform Alex into the woman of her boldest dreams and her deepest fears.

Theresa Russell stars as Catharine, the elusive beauty whom Alex pursues with Nicol Williamson, Dennis Hopper and French film veteran Sami Frey co-star as the men targeted to fall victim to her affections.
